The Firehouse Studio is currently offering use of our glass flameworking facilities to the public in the form of classes, workshops, and studio rental time by the hour to qualified persons. Learn and improve upon any number of skills from beads, pendants, rings and marbles, to goblet making and other hollow form vessel techniques. Intro to Flameworking Borosilicate
$150.00 one class, 3 hours each
Skill level - No previous experience required
Students learn basic safety and equipment use and are walked through one on one how to make a small glass marble or paperweight. This course is a good way to experience the glass forming process on a very introductory level.

Beginning Beadmaking in Borosilicate Glass
$250.00 three classes, 3 hours each
Skill level - No previous experience required)
Students will learn basic information about safety, tools, and equipment and will practice making beads with dot and stringer techniques. Form, style, and annealing techniques will be discussed.

Beginning Flameworking in Borosilicate Glass
$250.00 three classes, 3 hours each
Skill level - No pervious experience required
Students will learn basic information about safety, tools, and equipment and will practice melting glass to make simple solid forms with clear and colored glass. Students will learn shaping techniques and color application, and will be expected to design and create their own objects with the techniques discussed.

Basic Pendants and Medallions
$280.00 three classes, 3 hours each
Skill level - No previous experience required
Students will focus on pendant making techniques and styles working with clear and colored borosilicate glass. Loop making and shaping techniques will be covered, and students will be exposed to popular styles and pendant making techniques.

Marble Making Techniques
$280.00 three classes, 3 hours each
Skill level - Intermediate (Some experience recommended)
Students will learn basic information about marble making styles, tools, and will practice melting glass to make simple 1 to 2 inch implosion marbles and vortex marbles with clear and colored glass. Marble mold usage and various rounding off techniques will be covered, as well as annealing times and schedules.

Basic Ring Making Techniques
$280.00 three classes, 3 hours each
Skill level - Intermediate to Advanced (Previous experience required)

Students will learn ring band making techniques, and practice sizing and shaping clear and colored borosilicate glass rings. Instructor will emphasize uniform shapes and control of the glass band for ideal fit.

Using Borosilicate Color
$380.00 two classes, 3hours each
Skill level - Intermediate (Previous experience required)

Students will learn how to strike colors, work cleaner with sensitive colors, and encasement techniques. Color chemistry charts and projects will be distributed as well as two pounds of various colors for the students to keep. This is a project based course that requires students to have torch working experience.

Making Hollow Form Vessels in Borosilicate Glass
$400.00 four classes, 3 hours each
Skill level Intermediate to Advanced (Previous experience required)

Students will concentrate on refining their tubing techniques. Pulling straight points and creating even forms will be the focus of the instruction. Students will be expected to focus on control and detail. A pictorial history of small form vessels will be viewed and discussed to help students research forms, styles, and working techniques.

Making Borosilicate Glass Goblets
$480.00 four classes 3hours each
Skill level- Intermediate to Advanced (Previous experience required)

Students will learn fundamental goblet making techniques and practice creating goblets in various styles. Focus will be placed on goblet tops and feet, making sure that uniform shapes are achieved. A history of goblets and different working styles will also be discussed. This course is very intensive and requires that students not only bring some torch working ability, but an ambitious nature as well.

In order to reserve your space in any lesson or workshop, the entire fee must be PAID IN FULL, IN ADVANCE, NON-REFUNDABLE, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Unless otherwise noted, the tools and materials are provided in all classes, and students will be able to keep what they make. Please dress in several layers of cotton clothing.  Do not wear shorts or open-toed shoes.  Long hair needs to be tied back and do not wear loose clothing. Lessons can also be customized to your specific needs so that you get the experience you desire. If you have specific interests let us know and we can work toward your goals at your own pace.

Studio rental time is available at $15.00 per hour (3 hour minimum). Kiln space must be rented separately for your project. Safety certification quiz required for studio rental and equipment time.
